Matsue’s annual fire brigade drill executed 

Matsue – A fire brigade drill, or dezome-shiki, was conducted near Matsue Castle on January 6th. Matsue firefighters demonstrated their skilled firefighting performance by releasing water into the Horikawa River. This annual event, held throughout Japan, aims to boost the morale of Japanese fire brigade officers.

 

At 11:05, the mayor of Matsue ordered the release of water to the firefighters, prompting an immediate response from the fire brigade. Water cannons were fired, and a variety of water releases were demonstrated. The citizens enthusiastically cheered on their fire brigade officers.

 

Japan has been grappling with the Noto earthquake since the beginning of 2024, leading fire brigade officers to engage in rescue missions in the affected areas even now.
