Event Announcement: Tama Stage at Tamatsukuri Onsen

Tamatsukuri Onsen, the historic spa town, is excited to announce its beloved summer tradition, Tama Stage. This remarkable event will run for 43 consecutive days, showcasing a variety of performances every night, rain or shine, and drawing crowds from near and far.

Event Details:
  • Period: July 20th (Saturday) – August 31st (Saturday)
  • Venue: Special stage along the river in front of Tamatsukuri Onsen Yuyu (in case of rain, the stage will be moved to the 3rd-floor hall of Tamatsukuri Onsen Yuyu)
Tama Stage Schedule:
  • Part 1: 8:15 PM – Performances by local artists and others
  • Part 2: 9:00 PM – Traditional performing arts show featuring Yasugibushi loach scooping show and Japanese drum performances
Kids’ Night Stall:
  • Period: Saturday, July 20th – Saturday, August 31st
  • Time: 7:00 – 22:00 PM
  • Venue: Matsunoyu (a Japanese inn) car park space opposite the riverside special stage
  • Activities: Children’s fair with food and drink booths, target shooting, bungee, Struck Nine, fishing, smart ball, and putting golf

How to Get to Tamatsukuri Onsen from Tokyo and Kyoto

From Tokyo:

By Air:

    • Flight: Take a flight from Haneda Airport (Tokyo) to Izumo Airport (Shimane), which is about 1.5 hours.
    • Airport Shuttle: Take the airport shuttle bus to Tamatsukuri Onsen from Izumo Airport, about 40 minutes.

By Train:

    • Shinkansen: Take the JR Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Okayama Station, about 4 hours.
    • Limited Express Train: Transfer to the JR Yakumo Limited Express train from Okayama Station to Matsue Station takes about 2.5 hours.
    • Local Train or Bus: Take the JR Sanin Line to Tamatsukuri Onsen Station from Matsue Station, which takes about 15 minutes. Alternatively, take a taxi or local bus directly from Matsue Station to Tamatsukuri Onsen.

 

From Kyoto:

By Train:

    • Shinkansen: Take the JR Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen from Kyoto Station to Okayama Station, about 1 hour.
    • Limited Express Train: Transfer to the JR Yakumo Limited Express train from Okayama Station to Matsue Station takes about 2.5 hours.
    • Local Train or Bus: Take the JR Sanin Line to Tamatsukuri Onsen Station from Matsue Station, which takes about 15 minutes. Alternatively, take a taxi or local bus directly from Matsue Station to Tamatsukuri Onsen.
