Shimane Prefecture launches promotion to attract foreign tourists ahead of Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025

Shimane Prefecture has launched a new promotion to attract foreign visitors from the Kansai area, coinciding with the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo in April 2025. Starting from August 1, 2024, the promotion will be conducted at various tourist information centres, hotels, and travel agencies.

 

  1. Promotion Content: The promotion includes various measures and varying specifics by facility. Key elements are:

Promotional Materials: Distribution and installation of leaflets, posters, novelty items, and samples targeted at foreign tourists.

Tourist Information Services: Staff at tourist information centres and hotel concierges will provide information and assistance to visitors.

 

  1. Locations: Promotional activities will be carried out at the following facilities:

Tourist Information Centres:

  1. Kansai Tourist Information Centre at Kansai International Airport (KTIC KIX)
  2. Kansai Tourist Information Centre of Kyoto (KTIC KYOTO)
  3. Namba Tourist Information Centre
  4. KITTE Osaka Iwami Ginzan Gunkodo
  5. Pivot BASE Travel Café @Tonbori
  6. Osaka Tourist Information Centre (JR Osaka Station)
  7. Shin-Osaka Tourist Information Centre (JR Shin-Osaka Station)
  8. Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store Foreign Customer’s Salon

 

Hotels and Accommodation:  It is implemented at the front desks of 15 hotels and accommodations throughout the Kansai region, particularly in Osaka Prefecture.

 

Car Rental Counters: It is implemented at ORIX Rent-a-Car, Budget Rent-a-Car, and Nippon Rent-a-Car at Kansai Airport.

 

The promotion will be implemented at approximately 30 locations, including some outside the Kansai region.
